Dr Jéssica Costa is a Biotechnologist and Master in Biotechnology (Federal University of Amazonas-UFAM, Brazil). She got her PhD in Science of Natural Resources (Universidad La Frontera-UFRO, Chile) with a Double Doctoral Degree in Agri-Food Systems (Catholic University of Sacro Cuore, Italy). In addition, during her PhD, she was also educated at the Applied Mycology Group of Cranfield University (UK) and the Applied Mycology Group of the University of Minho (Portugal). She was the first Researcher to receive the International Doctoral Distinction award from UFRO. Dr Jéssica Costa works at the Institute of Biological Science-ICB of the Federal University of Amazonas (Brazil). She is an Associate Researcher at the Chemistry of Fungi Laboratory, which is an infrastructure associated with the Scientific and Technological Bioresources Nucleus (BIOREN-UFRO). Dr Jéssica Costa has experience in the field of agrifood mycology with an emphasis on phytopathogen and food-spoilage fungi, mainly on mycotoxigenic fungi.
